Last reviewed October 29, 2026

Quick answerCount five layers: a one-time setup fee, the monthly plan, IDX, any MLS pass-through fee and change fees. AgentFire is $800 setup plus $165 a month with IDX included; Placester starts at $59 a month plus $25 per IDX.

How much a real estate agent website costs: the five layers

A real estate agent website costs a one-time setup fee, a monthly plan, an IDX (Internet Data Exchange) fee, any MLS (multiple listing service) fee and change fees. As read on October 29, 2026, the entry points are $59 a month at Placester, $399 a month on a 12-month term plus $500 setup at Real Geeks, and an $800 to $6,500 design package plus $165 a month at AgentFire. IDX shows listings from your MLS on your site.

Setup fees: from none to a $6,500 custom design

  • Ignite, $800 once: four themes, white-glove setup, your branding.
  • Custom, $2,750 once: a custom homepage, 10 pre-configured and 3 custom interior pages, a senior designer.
  • Firebrand, $6,500 once: a custom homepage, 10 custom interior pages, 3 strategy sessions.

Real Geeks adds $500 once on every term. Showcase IDX, a plugin for a site you already run, lists no setup fees. A brokerage-provided site has no price page; BoldTrail, a platform vendor, calls such sites technically free to the agent.

Monthly plans and billing bases side by side

AgentFire bills monthly only, with no annual price. Placester bills monthly or annually and says annual billing earns a 20% discount. Real Geeks prices by commitment term: $599 a month on 6 months, $399 on 12 months and $3,990 billed annually. Extra seats add cost: Team Link is $10, $7 or $5 per user a month.

AgentFire's checkout starts monthly billing after the build period, about 4 to 8 weeks after purchase depending on the package, while its Terms start the monthly fee when development begins.

IDX and MLS pass-through fees per month

AgentFire's pricing page includes IDX with every site, and a footnote says IDX fees do not include MLS pass-through fees; its IDX FAQ adds extra charges for combining boards. A pass-through fee is a charge some MLSs make to vendors for data access, passed on to you.

AgentFire board pages print $7.00 a month for California Regional MLS, $10.00 for Canopy MLS and $33.19 for Northwest MLS; a board page with no fee printed is silent on the amount. Placester charges $25 a month per approved IDX. Real Geeks charges $10 per board a month. Showcase IDX says its MLS pass-through typically ranges from $0 to $33 a month.

Change, storage and exit fees after launch

AgentFire's rate list prices later changes: a custom interior page from $350, a domain name change $100 and an IDX switch $100 to $150. Extra storage is $5 a month per additional gigabyte, and the On Ice subscription that stores a deactivated site is $30 a month. Reactivation after 6 months starts at $125 an hour and can reach $500.

Adding it up over three years

Computation, not a vendor price: one-time fees plus 36 months of each monthly line.

  • AgentFire, Ignite with Pro: $800 + 36 x $165 = $6,740. Firebrand with Plus is $6,500 + 36 x $215 = $14,240.
  • Placester, Agent Essential with one IDX: 36 x $59 + 36 x $25 = $3,024 billed monthly, or 3 x $566 + 36 x $25 = $2,598 billed annually.
  • Real Geeks, annual term with one IDX feed: $500 + 3 x $3,990 + 3 x $120 = $12,830.

Each sum leaves out MLS fees, taxes, add-ons and change fees. AgentFire's figure buys a vendor-built design; Placester Agent Essential is a site you build. AgentFire may raise prices on 30 days' written notice, so any three-year figure is an estimate.

AgentFire's Ignite package is $800 one-time and its Pro plan $165 a month, with IDX included and MLS pass-through fees charged on top. Its 30-minute demo is free, and it has no free trial. Best real estate website for agents sets the options side by side, AgentFire pricing lists every plan and add-on, and cheapest real estate websites for agents prices the low end.
