Free real estate websites for agents: five options and their limits

Last reviewed October 29, 2026

Quick answerThe no-cost routes are a brokerage-provided site, which BoldTrail calls technically free to the agent, and Wix's Free plan, which shows no IDX. Placester can be tried free for 14 days; AgentFire has no free plan.

Free real estate websites for agents: what is really free

The free routes for a real estate agent are a brokerage-provided site, Wix's Free plan and two trials, Placester's for 14 days and Showcase IDX's for 10, as read on October 29, 2026. AgentFire has no free plan. Its free step is a 30-minute demo, then $800 one-time setup for Ignite and Pro at $165 a month.

IDX (Internet Data Exchange) is the feed that shows listings from an MLS (multiple listing service) on your own site.

A brokerage-provided site and whether it moves with you

BoldTrail, a platform vendor, describes brokerage-provided sites in general as "technically free to the agent," with customization usually limited to headshots and contact information. Keller Williams' own page on agent sites prints no fee and says site leads go into the agent's Contacts.

Neither page says what happens to such a site, or its leads, when an agent leaves, so ask your brokerage whether it moves with you. NAR's 2023 MLS handbook leaves it to each local MLS whether an affiliated agent may use IDX on a personal site, with the broker's consent. Your MLS's rules govern; this is not legal advice.

Wix's Free plan and the IDX question

Wix's plans page offers a Free plan with no credit card required, then Light, Core, Business and Business Elite. It says prices vary by location, so no Wix price appears here. The word IDX does not occur on the plans page, and Wix's undated help center says Wix does not support IDX integration for real estate agents, naming a third-party iHomefinder Real Estate app or custom code with Velo by Wix.

AgentFire's help desk adds that Wix does not allow changing name servers for domains Wix hosts, which matters if you later move the domain.

Free trials: Placester and Showcase IDX

Placester's pricing header lists a 14-day free trial on every plan, while its FAQ says up to 21 days. No credit card is needed, and a custom domain cannot be mapped during the trial. After it, Agent Essential is $59 a month.

Showcase IDX's pricing page offers a 10-day trial with all Premium features and no card, then Essentials at $94.95 a month. Its plugin page says the trial with live data starts once your MLS approves you, and before that you get 10 days of demo data. It is a WordPress plugin, so you need a site of your own.

When to move from a free site to a paid one

Move when the free site cannot carry your brand or your IDX. On AgentFire, the pricing FAQ says your original content, photos and videos remain yours, while the proprietary design and technology cannot be transferred to another provider.

Before leaving a free brokerage-provided site for a branded one with IDX, add up setup, plan, IDX and MLS fees. Luxury Presence prints no price, so ask it for the setup fee in writing.

Three years of Ignite with Pro add up to $800 + 36 x $165 = $6,740 before MLS pass-through fees. That is a computation, not a vendor price, and AgentFire may raise prices on 30 days' written notice.
